Spellbook, the leading AI infrastructure for contracts used by over 5,000 in-house and legal teams across 80+ countries, has been named No. 3 on the 2026 Report on Business magazine’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies program, highlighting its 5,826% three-year revenue growth, based on financial data submitted by each company. The ranking caps a year of rapid momentum for Spellbook, from launching Autonomous Contract Management (ACM) to expanding its global footprint and building out its leadership team.
“It’s been an incredible year of global traction for Spellbook. Being named one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies is an exciting validation of our team’s hard work and the impact our product is having with our customers,” said Scott Stevenson, Co-Founder and CEO of Spellbook. “The global economy runs on contracts, and we’re proud that Canada is setting the pace for how fast the rest of the world gets them done.”
“The Globe and Mail congratulates the winners of Canada’s Top Growing Companies 2026 on this exceptional achievement,” says Andrew Saunders, president and CEO of The Globe and Mail. “Each of these organizations has shown an extraordinary ability to adapt, innovate and grow amid ongoing change. Their achievements reflect the ingenuity and determination of Canadian entrepreneurs and business leaders who are helping shape the future of our economy.”
Spellbook gives legal teams and the teams they support a single AI system to manage contracts from first draft to renewal, replacing the spreadsheets, redlined emails and outside counsel calls that used to eat up days. The top three recognition by Report on Business magazine follows consistent momentum by the company in 2026, from introducing Compare to Market, which arms lawyers with real-time market data to help teams negotiate smarter and close faster, to the launch of ACM, the first AI system that powers contracts end to end with human approval at every step. The company also surpassed over 10M contracts reviewed on its platform, with suggestion acceptance rates climbing from 5% to 55%.
Since opening a new headquarters in Toronto in January, Spellbook’s Canadian headcount has grown to 197 across its Toronto, Vancouver and Newfoundland offices. Meanwhile, revenue has grown 300% and its Canadian customer base has grown 200%, including organizations such as Aritizia, WealthSimple and Altera Health.
The company has also bolstered its leadership with the appointment of former Shopify and Atlassian CTO Jean-Michel Lemieux as its first Executive Independent Contributor (EIC), a newly created role built on the idea that AI has closed the gap between building and leading, and Meltem Kuran Berkowitz as CMO, formerly head of growth for Deel.
Spellbook’s Co-Founder and CEO Scott Stevenson was also recognized by Canada’s Top 40 Under 40®. Top 40 is an annual leadership award that recognizes exceptional achievement by 40 outstanding Canadians who are under the age of 40. Founded in 1995 by Caldwell and sponsored by Deloitte Canada, Top 40 is one of the most coveted awards for young Canadian business leaders, highlighting those who innovate in Canada and give back to their community. Now in its eighth year, Canada’s Top Growing Companies recognizes private companies innovating and driving business achievements across the country. The full 2026 list can be found here.
